I'd like to get an engine that would have a variable number of polygons, so that people with a older systems could reduce number of polygons in all objects and would be able to increase em (i'd like it to be indefinatly). Also numerous of blending and rendering options should enable older (by that I mean that in the future current newer systems will be considered old) as well as newer systems to run it smoothly, and still enable newer systems to set the quality to the max. It would be fully object oriented, that a person consists of head,limbs,etc. a libs consists of upper, lower and hand/foot. a hand consists of 5 fingers and a wrist, a fingers consists of 3 sections and nail, a fingersection consists of a bone and flesh,...
Each player should be able to have full view around him, so that certain people can put screens besides and behind them to view that arear too.
